AT THE HEART OF SPLASH

Every stone has a story.
So does the woman who chose it.

I'm Lynne Gyorey, and I've spent years doing something I love: traveling to gem shows, meeting the people who source the world's most beautiful stones, and bringing the very best of them home to become Splash Jewelry.

This is not jewelry made from a catalog. Every piece starts with a stone I held in my hands and said yes to.

How it started

I grew up on the Monterey Peninsula, surrounded by the colors and textures of the California coast — the way light hit the water, the deep greens and blues of the bay, the feeling that beauty was something you could touch. That stayed with me.

After a long career in Silicon Valley tech, I found myself wanting to make things again. To create something you could hold. That path led me to gemstones, then to the chakra system — an ancient framework for understanding yourself that felt, somehow, entirely practical — and eventually to the realization that the two belonged together.

Jewelry that wasn't just beautiful, but intentional. Pieces that reminded you of something true about yourself every time you put them on. Splash Jewelry has been that experiment ever since. And it turns out a lot of women were waiting for exactly this.

Where the stones come from

Every year I travel to the Tucson Gem Show — the annual international gem show that is, simply put, the mecca of the most beautifully curated gems from all over the world. Vendors travel from every continent to be there. So do I.

I pick up the lapis and feel the weight of it. I hold the citrine up to the light. I look for the piece that makes me stop and say: that one. The stones that make it into a Splash collection are the ones that passed that test.

It takes longer. It costs more. But it means that every stone in every piece you receive was chosen — not assigned.

The people behind the stones

One of my favorite things about sourcing in person is the people I meet along the way. Vendors who have worked with specific stones for decades. Families who have been in the gem trade across generations. People who light up the same way I do when they find something extraordinary.

Those relationships matter to me. The care that goes into sourcing the raw material is the first chapter of every piece Splash Jewelry makes.

Why intention matters

The chakra system is an ancient framework for understanding yourself — seven energy centers, each connected to a different aspect of how you move through the world. Grounding and stability. Creativity and joy. Confidence. Love. Honest expression. Intuition. Clarity.

I've organized Splash Jewelry's collections around these seven centers — not because you need to believe in chakras to wear these pieces, but because having a reason to choose a piece of jewelry changes how you wear it. You're not just picking something pretty. You're picking something that means something to you right now.

That's the whole idea. Jewelry that isn't just decoration. Jewelry that's a reminder.

Have something specific in mind?

If you're looking for a piece for a particular moment — a milestone birthday, a meaningful gift, something that speaks to exactly where someone is in their life right now — reach out. I love creating custom pieces, and I often have stones in my collection that aren't listed in the shop.

Every custom piece starts with a conversation. Let's have one.
